© Stephen Bess 2006This is a view of the Pentagon and the monument from Pentagon City. The zoom function on my FinePix camera doesn't seem to take clear pictures from a distance. I think that I need to refer to the manual some more. I know...I'm turning this into a photo-blog. :) It's all good.

Wow! I'm the first person to actually post lucky me! Love the picture -- love the brilliance and starry quality of the lights. Don't read the manual -- sometimes in retrospect, life's most beautiful, precious and memorable moments are those that are initially seen as "mistakes". Keep the photos coming! I love photography.
I love D.C. I was there last April and my mum and I tried to walk around the Pentagon, but the guard went crazy and started yelling that we could not take pictures or walk around the building. We did see the side where the airplane hit the building during 9/11. It was sombering to see the new brick next to the old brick. It served as a reminder of how much we have lost since that day.
i like the shine of the lights. i like the contrast between the light & the darkness.
are you sure this isn't illegal? taking pictures of the Pentagon? don't let me catch you on one of those watch lists *lol*

Yes, I remember how it looked after Sept 11th. It looked like a war zone when we passed it over the 14th St bridge. I didn't think of that when I posted the picture. Thanks.

i mentioned it because when i was living in NY, they were trying to make taking pictures on the subway illegal, which is crazy. but the world is a crazy place.

Yeah, I know that there are laws in place in relation to filming in DC and using shots in movies, but I don't know about the photography? I didn't know that they were trying to do that in NY though. Yes, the world is one big crazy ghetto! :)
That is crazy, you cannot take picture on the Subway??? Damn!
But Stephen, I love the picture. I bet it was a frightening site to see the Penetgon on 9/11/01. I even remember seeing it on TV, and cried like crazy, seeing it in person must have been even more powerful and emotional.
I hope to someday come out to DC and see everything. If I ever do, I will be sure to get the do's and don't's from you and your readers. But this is a long time off, so no need to get into it now.
I again also love the photo's. You are a great photographer, and I love seeing DC through your eyes!

Also, that time during 9/11 was very surreal. I was teaching at the time of the attacks and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it on the television. I had one student lose a father at the pentagon. There were others who were crying because their parents worked there, but hadn't spoken to them yet. School was dismissed around 10 or 11am for the day. I'll never forget that. I felt vunerable that day and I also felt like it could get worst. I felt that they (terroist) could do anything that they wanted if they could touch the Pentagon and the World Trade. Anyway, thanks for stopping in as always. :)

Re sa bo leka, lona? We thought we might make the US this summer, especially DC where my spouse has relatives, but alas, it looks like we'll be doing Spain again this year.
