Ahhh...today is momma's birthday. She is growing older, but sweeter as years go by. Mom, I wish you many many more! You are a mother and a blessing to so many people. I pray your reign will continue far beyond what you could ever imagine. God bless you. We love you. MmmmmmmmBBBbbbaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! Meanwhile, I have an article I need finished by Friday. I'm writing it for the company's newsletter. I've completed my interview and I've organized my notes. Now, I just need to write it. The subject matter has to do with state and local government. This is not my subject of choice, but hey...I'm writing. I've also learned a few things about state and local government. It really is fascinating. I'm wishing you all the very best. I was in my junior year of college and a Jazz disc jockey on local radio stations WEAS/WHCJ in Savannah, Georgia. This song was featured on a cd I had back then titled, The Rebirth of Cool . The cd also featured acid jazz guitarist, Ronny Jordan and alternative Hip Hop artist, MC Solaar of France. I still have it in my collection and it has withstood the test of time.

Hello all! I haven't posted this week because life and work has been a bit demanding. It's all good though. It's all for the better. By the way, this a picture of me giving a presentation at one our meetings a month ago. Ain't I clean? I was witty that day. The crowd appreciated my twisted humor. *smile* Peace~

This is a piece [pictured above] titled, The Poet by Mr. John Holyfield. John Holyfield was born and raised in Cl arksburg, West Virginia. He has studied graphic design at both Howard University and The University of the District of Columbia. His major influences in art are Ernie Barnes and Norman Rockwell (Many of you would remember Ernie Barnes' artwork [pictured left] featured on the 70s television show, Good Times). Holyfield's art reflects a similar nostalgia of African American culture and southern roots. It has a warm, down-home feel to it. Holyfield's work was the first piece of art I'd ever purchased. I purchased it at an art festival here in DC back in 1999. Mr. Holyfield was there and he had some of his original work on display. The Poet was one of them. Natrually, I wanted the original, but I noticed he was selling the print at a less expensive price (much less). So, I decided to buy the print [unframed] for $150.00. Kwame Nkrumah (September 21, 1909 - April 27, 1972) Led Ghana to Independence on March 6, 1957. He emerged as one the most influential Pan-Africanist of the 2oth Century. Today marks the 5oth anniversary of Ghana's Independence from British rule. The achievements of Dr. Nkrumah and the support from the people of Ghana remains to be a Black Star in the history of liberation and freedom on the African continent. Ghana is known today as the first African country to gain it's independence. Egypt, Sudan, Tunisia, and Morocco became independent in previous years before Ghana in 1951-1956. They are not considered predominantly "Black" countries by the West so Ghana is considered the first "Black" African nation to achieve it's independence.
