"Life lessons begin" sounds like in some odd way, the army sheltered you from 'life'. Am I right? I don't know, just trying to read between the lines.

GG, the military did shelter us a bit. We had our duties and responsibilties and anything else was secondary. They taught us many vauluable life skills that most were not able to put into practice until afterwards. By the way, I was in the Navy. Army? Never! lol! No, it's all for the good.
