Poem 8: Bright Eyes

Bright Eyes

A poem by Paul Laurence Dunbar comes to mind
whenever I see a little brown baby with sparklin’ eyes

Oooh wee, child!

Look at those eyes so big and bright
I bet you they could lead us back to the house tonight

Those big, bright eyes could shine and flicker straight to the front door
and it’ll be just in time for this little brown baby to go to sleep once more

Whenever I see a little brown baby with sparklin’ eyes
A poem by Paul Laurence Dunbar comes to mind

The picture and the poem made me giggle. I read it in a really OTT voice like Big Momma. Yeah, I know I'm crackers! Thanks for sharing :-)

Ehy Stephen,
I'm soooo sad...
I'm trying to find some sensible blogger outside Italy.

Hope your election day will be better :-(

What a bouncy, curious baby, the kind you want to pick up and hold and bounce on your knee and sing baby-talk-things to.

NML's comment made me read it again, like Big Momma.

lol! I can almost imagine you. Okay, now that's on my list if ever I meet you. I have to see you do the MJ and I have to hear your Big Momma voice.

Sorry, brother. Yes, I hope that our election will be better.

Now, I have to hear your Big Momma voice. :)I'm glad that you can appreciate it. I looked at that picture last night and wrote a little poem to go with it.

I didn't read it out loud, I don't read Big Momma good, but 'her' voice in my head is good.

I'm still fascinated by the house at the top, and the 'shacks' below...we have them, mostly in the countryside.

Yasmeen-
Thank you. :)

You would have to do a South American Big Momma voice. :)

I love that house too. I look at it everytime I pass it going home to North Carolina. I'm going to get another photo the next time I'm there.
