Two men talking in deli. I cannot remember the name of this place? I hope that all will have a wonderful 4 day weekend if you are here in the United States. It's Labor Day ! This holiday is not connected to any battle. It was actually created to recognize the contributions of workers across America. It is on the first Monday of September. I also hope that all of my international friends have a great weekend as well. Peace~

I was actually supposed to head there tonight to meet Ananda. But with this horrible weather outside, I cancelled. I can't be outside when its raining, or else I'll melt! lol =)

It was a nice crowd. The poets were ok. The crowd is very supportive and polite. It reminds me of Appollo Kids. Everyone's a winner!!! :)

In france, we have, it's called "fête du travail" = labour day = May Day!!!

There is a tradition in France to offer each May 1st a garden lilly to every important person we have. It's a lucky charm.
The origin of this common usage is pretty old : It is told that the french King Charles IX once received a garden lilly from a citizen who wished him luck. It was May 1st, in the 16th Century. The King decided then to offer garden lillies each May 1st, as a symbol of luck. This common usage is still very powerfull in France today.

*smile* Yes, I had a friend who used to refer to me as Etienne. I like the French version as well. That's a wonderful history about May Day. I didn't know that. Isn't learning such a wonderful thing! Thank you. :)
