Photography: The DC I See

Mocha Hut

Alley Caddy

African American owned Industrial Bank

Les Nubian (They will be performing live at Bohemian Caverns on July 19th. Click to see a closer image and more of my photos on Flickr)

These are just a few of the images I saw around town last weekend. If you celebrate the 4th of July I wish you a pleasant and safe holiday. The 4th of July in my family is an excuse to grill/BBQ. *smile* So, you know I will be getting a plate tommorow!

LOL! I get it. You have the CD, but you want to be in DC on July 19th. :)
I'm going to try and make that show. I've never seen them perform.

I just checked the tour schedule & Detroit is not on the list, what a bummer. I hear they put on an awesome show. If you go have them dedicate "Bebela" & "J'veux d'la musique" to me please. LOL

Nice. Alley Caddy and Industrial Bank are my favorites. Happy 4th! Don't eat too much. Or do but don't tell your arteries. One step forward. One step back. Tomorrow's another day.

Happy and safe 4th for you as well. Let me know when you hit the District.

Mike-
You just might see me there. I don't have a ticket yet but I'd like to check it out. :)

Dance-
Yes, the bank is operating and still family owned.

Alex-
Thanks! I like the Industrial Bank one as well. I like the Les Nubian for the colors and their great smiles. :) Also, I will not eat too much. Peace, bro.

Gishungwa-
Thank you! This is the day we celebrate great BBQ. :)

Hope you had a blast today (if that's the right thing to say). One day when you have time, I would really love to hear you tell us about the fourth of July, and what it means to African Americans and other minorities in your country.

Eeey, ntate. I will do just that. I thought of writing something this time, but that was the problem...time. I have some definite feelings about that. I ask the questions that Frederick Douglass asked a century ago. Khotso~

Thank you. :)

Cathy-
I ate all the BBQ and I think I saw one firework. :)I'm hearing them more than I see them.

Ok I'm jealous, they close down my webcafe and seeing you sitting there at the Mocha Hut, causing me a moment. Nothing like a great escape in a web cafe or just a place to enjoy some java and surf the web.

I hope you had a great 4th of July!

I'm sorry. :) Yes, I like to chill there every now and then. I never take a laptop with me. It's usually just me, my pen, and my pad. My 4th was cool. I was with family just chillin'. It was nice. I hope yours was enjoyable as well.

Hello stephen !
Bonsoir !

What a surprise a post with only pictures...
I particularly ike the one at the top and the one at the bottom
This back of this man is so expressive
Most than if he was looking at the camera
And I like the smile of these two ladies and the shapes and also the bright colors

I'm going to bed now, it's late here (1:41AM)

Aurevoire, Stephen !

Merci! I hope that you had a good nights rest. I am going to do some writing today and stay out of the heat. I hope your day is a productive one. Peace~
