Young and hip in DC
90 Bus headed southeast on H St.
H street was one of the hardest hit areas during the riots of 1968. It has deteriorated a great deal since 1968, but efforts are underway to revitalize this part of DC. It's a straight shot to downtown so developers are erecting condominiums and lofts to attract money. The Victorian style homes that surround the H street neighborhood are also being revitalized.

The work and Dress shop, sort of looks a bit targeted to the the neighbour hood pimps.
Correction, "Cat Daddies." :)
It is good they are trying to fix up the neighboorhood, too bad it took so long, but at least they are now. I like it when they clean up a bad neighborhood. Especially when they have lots of neat old houses. thanks for sharing the pictures, DC looks like such a neat place, I hope to visit it someday in the future.
I especially like your caption "Young and hip in DC," because that's the direction they're taking H Street in. :-) Some great stuff happening down there these days! It's got a ways to go, but it's a far cry from 5 years ago when I wouldn't walk around after dark.
Is that Chuck Brown outside the store?
I like the contrast between the "Fashion Center" and the "Fashion" of the people standing outside hee hee I think they need to get inside and revitalize their fashion!! Maybe I just don't get it, I am too old fashioned ***wink***
I can dig that hat though.
Faith-
Yes, revitalization is good and bad because families are sometimes displaced or plain ol' moved out of the way. Good to see you. Thanks! :)
MJW-
Yes, it is nice. They have a martini bar and active theater. It's really cool.
