American Filmmaker, Mr. Spike Lee, looks as if he went back to basics on Red Hook Summer. Over the past decade, I've been looking for the raw, Spikey kind of film -- the Concrete-Lee type of film. The type of film that made me anticipate the next "Spike Lee Joint." The kind that sent scores of young black people off to film school. I'm hoping that this is an example of such a film. I will check it out and get back. Check out the trailer below. Watching it puts in the mind of the James Baldwin classic, Go Tell it on the Mountain.
