Photo & Poem

Dawn

An angel, robed in spotless white,
Bent down and kissed the sleeping Night.
Night woke to blush; the sprite was gone.
Men saw the blush and called it Dawn.
~ Paul Laurence Dunbar

I got up one morning just to see the sunrise. This is only part of what I saw. Look, the sky is blushing! This poem by Dunbar was one of the first poems I memorized as a freshman in college. I used to recite this poem to girls on campus and they would smile and say, "that's so romantic." Nowadays, I recite my own poems to my wife and she says, "put it in a book, Bess!" Then, I smile say, "that's so romantic."

Beautiful is right! Your wife is lucky. She does not know how lucky she is to have a romantic man. My man (although I love him more than anything) is the most unromantic man alive. But we all have different qualities, and I would not trade him for anything! Have a great day!

I could look at this picture all day, the fields of depth are amazing. Are you going to print and hang it? I would love to know you have done this :)

ProfZ-
Merci, beaucoup!

Oh, she knows. My wife loves it when I recite poetry to her. There are just those moments when she pushes me to get published and/or submit my work. I call her my wife + manager = Wifanager. :)

Christina-
I have not done this, but perhaps I will.

Oh brother, you were one of THOSE college guys...running around reciting poetry all heady and deep...LOL!

Listen to your lovely wife...go get published!

Lovely picture. I have gotten up many a morning to see the sun rise. However for me its the moon that I adore.

Stephen, I have go agree with your wife, GET PUBLISHED! You are better than half the crap out there that is published! I am glad to hear that she appreciates it though. I should have guessed that with the wonderful woman she is! Have a great day!

This is such a beautiful poem and picture. I think I am gonna stop by Borders today and pick up some poetry circa the Harlem Renaissance.
