Art and Lyrics: Terraplane Blues

Robert Johnson, Terraplane Blue 2001. Stephen Bess
Watercolor, pencil, and ink on paper

Terraplane Blues
"And I feel so lonesome you hear me when I moan (x2)

Who been drivin my terraplane for you since I've been gone

I'd said I flashed your lights mama your horn won't even blow

I even flash my lights mama this horn won't even blow

Got a short in this connection hoo-well, babe, its way down below

I'm on hist your hood momma mmmm I'm bound to check your oil (x2)

I got a woman that I'm lovin way down in Arkansas..."

Great choice for a song and I too like your art work and your blog as a whole.

And I wanted to thank you for the kind comment that you left in my blog SqueezeMyLemon. Elizabeth Cotten represents your home state well, she was such a sweet person. I hope you check out all her videos that are on YouTube. Thanks again and stay blessed.

Great! and Happy Easter! I was thinking of you the other night when I saw this blues band, the piano player was 83 but seemed 68 at most, used to play with Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf. It was a really great show and a lot of his younger family was in the audience. (I should go out more, this kind of event does take place, but even if I were out every night this show would have stood out.)

Thank you.

Oh, I would be in Blues heaven if I was there. I love the music and especially if it is live! :)

Darn, I wish I could hear more blues on our radio, hear mo' blues music, see mo' blues art. I didn't know you could do art too, Stephen.

I dabble a bit in art. I enjoy it as a hobby. It's one of things that can hold my attention for a while.
