Gil Scott Heron: Jazz Soul Funk

Gil Scott-Heron (born April 1, 1949) is an African American poet and spoken word musician of the 60's, 70's and 80's. His famous words, "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" is a battle cry that has made it's way into the 21st century. He is the son of Jamaican footballer Gil Heron, who was one of the first black professionals to play in the UK.

This is one of my favorite songs from Gil Scott Heron titled, The Bottle. Enjoy your weekend and be safe. Peace & Soul~

For the great men of soul, is it possible a minute of respectful sound to the memory of James Brown?

Do you think it's appropiate?

He was great.

Ciao

Mr. Bess, I didn't get a chance to wish you a good weekend, plus it flew by so quickly. Great post as always, I like the black and white scene with the little boy running

I know. I love the flute and the dancing girl, the running boy! It's fantastic. This is the kind of stuff that they should play on BET. :)
