Happy Birthday to Ms. Roberta Flack! She was born on February 10, 1937 in Black Mountain, North Carolina. She and Donny Hathaway met as students at Howard University. They both got their start singing in D.C. night spots like Mr. Henry's on Pennsylvania Avenue (near Eastern Market). Ms. Flack is such a legend as a soul singer. I would love to see her life on the new soul documentaries like Unsung on TVOne. A beautiful and soulful sister. Happy Birthday and may God bless you with many more. Mr. Donny Hathaway (RIP)~

Love Roberta Flack!
Legendary! Yes she definitely needs and deserves an Unsung episode! She is the focus of my Old School Friday post. http://tinyurl.com/75ddguo
Geoffrey, so do I. Also, you've inspired me in my blog design. I loved your clean look so much that I went back to clean. :) This is sort of my 2005 look when it all started.
Hey Regina! I'll check it out.
I saw her live in Jamaica! Ahh, what a voice! Her song Jesse is one of my favourite. I could do with some of her songs right now.
I was one of the people who had worked on the ad for her show, I kid you not.
GG, that's great! I've never seen her perform and it has been a while since I've heard of her performing in the states.
Oh my - Ms Flack was born the same year as my Mother. Ms F has a voice that I could blissfully listen to over and over again.
Roberta Flack will have just had her 75th Birthday!
