This was a question on another blog that I visit occasionally. It made me think of things that I haven't thought about in years. The person wanted to know what your favorite things were at the listed ages. These were my answers:
- Four? It was a rocking chair that was next to my bed.
- Seven? A favorite shirt that I wanted to wear with everything. I also loved my marbles game.
- Nine? Huffy bicycle with the banana seat. Everybody tried to steal it! I lived in a bad neighborhood. Eleven? An electric race car track and electric football game.
- Thirteen? My dog. He was a black Lab and shepherd mix named "White toe." Why that name? I was fascinated with Native Americans at the time. :)
- Fifteen? My hair brush and du-rag. I was trying to look cute by then. I had to have the waves going to the side. It was 1983! That was fun! I haven't thought about some of these things in years.

wow. i don't even know what my favorite things were at four & seven or even nine really. i've always been into music, so i'd probably list a bunch of songs. *lol*
at five my favorite song was "The Show" by the Get Fresh Crew. i have an older brother & i always wanted to be down with him and his friends. we used to sing the song on the school bus. my favorite part was "Tony the TIIIGEEEEEEEEEEEER" *lol
cool list. be glad you can remember! and it's good you've documented it. it's always nice to take a look back. i always end up laughing at myself & my MANY crushes *lol*
Wow! You know that you make me feel old skool! When "The Show" came out I was 18 and fresh in the Navy. I remember all the brothers from NY talking about that hit and how they saw them live. That was the joint!
I don't know why these things made an impression on my brain, but I have those mental tatoos that I can always recall.
I definitely couldn't have done this exercise, but enjoyed reading yours.

Thanks! I remember those years. My parents divorced when I was 3yrs old. I remember seeing the back of my father's head when he was leaving for good.

Haa haa!! lol :) Yeah, no more hairbrush. I'm gonna have to say that coca butter has taken it's place. I like to rub coca butter on my head after I shave. It soothes it. :)

...Happy Easter!
Have a great weekend Stephen :)
You are becoming quite the photographer. D.C. at night looks a bit like an alien planet...
Jaysus, you have a very good memory! I had a good snicker at the waves and du-rag!
barbie-
Thanks! DC is an alien planet. :)

Yes, the waves in the hair were important back in the mid 80's if you were black and living on the East coast. :) I don't know how I remember back that far, but I honestly do.
Okay, wait. Age 13 is too much like me NOW. And that might be scary. How come my hubby and I came up with our own 'made up' Native American names for each other? How come we're into Native American names? We call our son "Lays with Fist" because he always has his hands balled up in a tight fist...tight like kink in Zulu hair. Yeah. Tight like that. Oh, and how come the dog we have is a black lab and shepherd mix? She's the best dog in the world. What if she was somehow related to YOUR dog? That's too weird. Let me get offa here.
Peace,
Michele
Wow! That's a huge coincidence! :) That's great. This means that we have more in common than we realized. My dog "White-toe" was my best friend. Bless ya, Michelle!
at 11 I had the flyest midnight blue beach cruiser ever. all the haters in my neighborhood tried to steal it too and I lived in the hoity toity suburbs. go figure!
Haa haa! The beach cruiser seems so California. That's cool. :)
