Journal Entry

Kevin was 10 years old

A Hyena is wild
Some people are wild
Bees Fly
Birds fly
Toys light up
Street lights come on at night
I need a pint of milk to make my cake
I drink a pint of milk sometimes
Sly means sneaky
Sly means you get into somebody business
I grind with two sticks

Cute. I also kept a journal for many many years, starting as a teen, and it's nice looking back to see the person you used to be.

BTW, I really hope D.C. finally gets the right to vote, I know a protest/march is scheduled for today but the weather is so crappy that I worry not many people will show. I live a tad outside the District in Maryland, but still, that's atrocious that D.C. residents are still being denied their basic democratic right to representation!

Crystal-
Thanks for the comment on Kevin.

As for DC's right to vote, I agree. This city has been denied their rights for so long that most of the long-time residence have given up. The face of the city is changing due to gentrification so the issue is gaining momentum. I thought of taking off to protest, but here I am sitting in the office. :) I hope for a good turn out as well.

The entry is so virgin, pure, untainted!! Wow!! The sad thing about growing up is fear. Fear to freely express our exact thoughts and feelings. A true Artist is the one who survived that fear unscathed. S/he continues to enjoy freedom of expression as evidenced/portrayed by this magnificent journal entry. And I am not talking the "Imus" freedom of speech!!

D.C. the "Chocolate City" was strategically denied the right to vote. However, the "Milk Chocolate" District of Columbia will vote soon!! ***wink***

So innocent and sweet. Takes me back and makes me lament the world as I understand it so much now.

Me like, this was cool and it's impressive to know he was only 10 years old. I'll have to share one of my journal entries later on, I have so many journals I should open a store :) naw, can't sell them.
