That's the thing about coffee shops: they're personal space, yet public space, all at once. I like it. Does this one have a copper ceiling, or am I just hoping?

Stephen A. Bess said...

Profzero-
Thanks. I'll have to check out whether the ceilings are copper because I honestly don't know? Now, the next time I return people are going to be wondering why I'm examining the ceilings. :)

Stephen, an amazing experience to catch up on all of your past week's posts + comments in one sitting (serves me right for not making it sooner!)It reads like an extraordinary panoply & microcosm of....wel, just about everything. I've really enjoyed it. As for Election Day, a beautiful post, but you didn't seem to take in when you wrote it just how significant it was to the world outside, once again. That we are given blanket coverage of any US elections is not new. But this one, like the 2004 presidential, is different. It is a gauge of how many millions around the world have been waiting, hoping, watching for some sign that the end was in sight for your Prezz (and he IS yours, love him or hate him!). Only you the US people could shift his perch, not us. It's been an even longer 6 years than I feared it would be back in Jan. 2001. To see Rumsfeld finally get his was almost like the liberation of Paris in 1944! If only something could give Cheney the same kind of kick, 'cos he's the one I truly despise the most.
Loved your tribute to your g-g g'father, too. And then we end up in a coffee shop with Marley, ever-present & eternal. The damage has already been done, Bush & co. have made sure of that. "We no know 'ow we an' dem are go work diss out...."
Peace to you Man!

That is one of the best experiences for me..everything you described but so many people think it is boring. I love my boring life :)

Take me to Mocha Hut, won't you? Was that "Africa Unite" playing on the box?

Cheers

Hello and welcocme back. Yes, you are correct. I didn't realize how much the rest of the world was watching the election process. This is why it's great to keep in touch with my friends across the ocean. You keep that much more informed about the world and I truly appreciate it. Truly, I need to find a way to get even more invoved than just voting. Ain't nothin' to it but to do it. :)
Also, I glad that you've enjoyed my post. I attempt to stay true to the name, Morphological Confetti. Thanks for the encouragement. Peace to you 2~

Mwabi-
That's a good time to me as well. I've been spending a lot of time in coffee houses these days reading, writing and chillin' with my cup of mild. :)\

Rethabile-
I definitely could. :)Aubuti, I'll have you all over this town.

I love the nostalgia mood of this post
I can hear the music when I'm reading it

Stephen A. Bess said...

Bougie-
I'm going to save all of my photos and take you up on that. However, I want to publish words before photos. :)

Cergie-
Hello! I hope that the music is your taste. :)Thanks. I wrote that while sitting in the coffee shop about 2 weeks ago.

Bougie-
By the way, thanks for the compliment. I need to come up to NYC and take some flicks. :)Actually, whatever happens first on the publishing side. Peace~

Nice poem and love the picture!! I have YET to go to Mocha Hut. Heard alot about it through Ananda. I'm planning on going there on a Friday night (one of these days when I can work up the energy) so I can hear some good poetry!!

Stephen A. Bess said...

Thanks UB! My cousin goes to Mocha Hut more than me, but I enjoy going now and then. By the way, the breakfast/brunch in there is the bomb!

NML/Natalie said...

This made me smile too although you clearly have better work days than I do... ;-)

Stephen A. Bess said...

LOL! NML, thanks. Are you saying that I'm here at work chillin' when I should be workin'? :)

do u have a favorite place or seat in the coffee shop...:)

Stephen A. Bess said...

Blkfeline-
Yes, in the corner, in the dark, in the back. :)
No, I usually like a spot by the window because I like to take time out to daydream or people watch. :)

I've never been in a real coffee shop over there. It sounds so foreign to me. I have this idea of people discussing art and poetry and so on...but I guess that's just my romantic view...or maybe they do, in France.

Stephen A. Bess said...

GG-
I like a place where I can sit comfortably and sip on a beverage. This is what the coffe shop offers. There's music and people. It's sort of like a club or lounge without the smoke and liquor. It's relaxing.

You sure have your way with words Stephen, beautiful poem.
My boyfriend; He wants me to meet him in the "back, in the corner, in the dark" ***wink***
