Decisions At The Butcher

Hmmm...I can't decide what I want for dinner tonight? Is it the goat head or the cow feet? Damn! I can't decide.

Side note: This pic was taken last night. We decided on the fresh turkey, but I've tasted everything on that list except the tripe and cow skin. I've heard that tripe is good, but I can't figure out how one would prepare cow skin?

Yum Yum, right! :)

Have a great weekend all!

I've tried goat all kinds of ways. My family raises goats in North Carolina. I like to play with them when I'm there and pat them. They just don't know that all I need is a grill and some curry. Haa haa! :)
I won't be going to SAfrica until next year for the first time. I'm looking forward to the trip. I would love to visit Kenya. Perhaps I will have the pleasure of traveling there one day soon. Have a great weekend as well. :)

lol. Not your thing Stephen? I don't really like gizzards. I'm more fond of liver. I like my liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti. :)

Tripe is commonly used in my culture. We put it in pepper soup and other soups that we eat with FuFu.

Its good and chewy...LOL

I think I would have gone with the turkey too...or the tilapia.
I guess goat would be like lamb, which is good, not sure I want the head though. food is funny if you know what it is.

Yes, I am always surprised at what I'll eat. Goat taste a great deal like lamb.

Haa haaa! I can see how chicken feet can look like baby hands. :) Baby hand soup! That's funny!

In chinese, there is an idiom about lantern made with cow skin, the implication is that as cow skin is thick and opaque in some sense, i guess, so no matter how hard you light up the candle, you cant see the light through it-- so if we say, especially grandma and mum will say, that someone is "cow skin lantern", this means he/she is stupid, inflexible....

Welcome back. I've never heard that. Thanks for sharing that. Grandmothers possess so much wisdom.
